GUMMED TAPE
Gum tape, also known as gummed tape or water-activated tape, is a sturdy paper packaging tape whose adhesive layer only sticks when it comes into contact with water. It is widely used in warehouses and online shops to securely and environmentally seal cardboard boxes.
Activation: The tape is made of kraft paper with an adhesive layer of plant-based starch. The adhesive is activated by wetting the tape with a sponge, wet cloth, or a special dispenser.
Adhesion: As soon as it is wet, the adhesive essentially penetrates the fibers of the cardboard. This creates a permanent, rock-solid bond.
Environmentally friendly: Because it is made of paper, it is fully recyclable. You can throw the box, along with the tape, into the paper recycling bin.
Extra secure: The tape forms a single unit with the box. This makes it immediately visible if the packaging has been tampered with (manipulation-proof).
Strong: It is resistant to heavy packages, temperature fluctuations, and moisture.
